The installation requires Wi‑Fi coverage across the whole lawn so the mower can receive correction data from Husqvarna Cloud; if full Wi‑Fi isn’t available there are dealer‑installed options such as the Automower® Connect kit (cellular) or the EPOS® RS1 reference station.
Wire‑free virtual boundaries
Set and adjust boundaries, stay‑out zones and multiple work areas from the Automower® Connect app. The virtual setup removes the need for a perimeter wire for most gardens, giving a flexible installation you can change as the garden evolves.
Centimetre‑level positioning and reliable coverage
GPS‑assisted navigation combined with correction data from Husqvarna Cloud gives excellent position accuracy (typically better than 5 cm). For even higher precision there’s an EPOS® RS1 reference station (dealer‑installed) that can deliver around 2–3 cm accuracy.

Support by wire
The mower supports both virtual and physical boundary wires. For areas with limited satellite coverage within a virtual installation, a physical boundary wire can be placed to ensure optimum performance.
The wire is an option to ensure a smooth mowing experience without temporary interruptions. For example, in narrow passages and areas close to densely clustered trees where coverage can be impacted.

Electric height adjustment – PATENTED
Electric cutting height adjustment makes it convenient to set the desired height via the Husqvarna Automower® Connect app. The setting is also accessible from the mower’s main menu.

Automatic passage handling – PATENTED
Husqvarna Automower® automatically senses narrow passages and finds its way even through the smallest passages. It will vary its route through the passage to avoid unpleasant tracks.

GPS-assisted navigation – PATENTED
An onboard GPS system creates a map of the garden, including where the boundary and guide wires are installed. Husqvarna Automower® will then register which parts of the garden it has covered and adjusts its mowing pattern accordingly. This will ensure optimised lawn coverage and an excellent cutting result.

Secondary Area
If your lawn has two areas that are not connected with a passage for your mower, for example the front and back lawn, then you are able to create a secondary area in your installation. Once installed, you need to manually move the mower between these two areas, and the mower will mow for a selected time or until the battery is empty.

Weather timer
Adjusts the working time to the lawn’s growth rate, meaning that Husqvarna Automower® will maximise its mowing time during periods of strong grass growth. In sunny or dry weather, or late in the season, the mower will spend less time mowing, which decreases wear on lawn and mower.

Automower® Access
The new Automower Access user interaction with high-resolution colour display, jog wheel and status indicators, provides an intuitive yet sophisticated way of controlling your mower. The icon-based design language integrates intuitively with the Automower® Connect smartphone app, providing a seamless user experience.
Spiral cutting
Automatic cutting functionality to even out grass height differences. Cutting disc sensors detect whether the mower enters an area with higher grass and switches cutting technology to systematic spiral pattern.

Easy cleaning
Easily wash the exterior and underneath of the robotic mower with a garden hose. Removable top cover and body for easy cleaning and reachability everywhere.

GeoFence
If the mower is moved outside the predefined area the mower alarm will sound, minimising the risk of theft. If the mower is within Wi-Fi range then you will also receive a notification via the app. Simply use the Automower® Connect app to define your mower’s GeoFence area.

Target height for improved lawn quality
For improved lawn quality, TargetHeight lowers the cutting height automatically from MAX to defined height over a 10 days period.

Low Carbon Emissions
By choosing this product, you can feel confident that it produces lower carbon emissions during active use compared to a traditional petrol product. This battery-driven product does not emit any CO₂ during use while still providing the power and quality that you expect from a Husqvarna product. FAQs
What happens if I do not have Wi-Fi or cellular coverage in a certain area of my lawn?
The robot lawn mower without perimeter wire require a stable internet connection across the full area that you want the mower to mow. If you choose a mower that has Wi-Fi connectivity (and not cellular), and you do not have Wi-Fi connectivity across your full lawn, then you can purchase the Automower® Connect kit as an additional accessory to enable cellular connectivity. Alternatively, you can purchase the Husqvarna EPOS® RS1 reference station, which also provides even higher mower position accuracy (around 2-3 cm).
How do I find out if I have Wi-Fi coverage in my garden?
Wire free mowers require a stable internet connection throughout the entire work area. A smartphone can be used first to check the Wi-Fi reception quality in the lawn. Simply go to different areas of your lawn and check the status of your Wi-Fi on your smartphone. Your phone should indicate at least one bar for the robotic lawn mower to operate reliably.
Will the Automower® Connect app work on my phone?
The Automower® Connect app supports both iOS and android, please see a complete list here of the supported operating systems. If your smartphone operating system is not supported then you will not be able to install the Automower® Connect app which is needed to install a wire free mower.
Do I need Wi‑Fi across the whole lawn?
Yes. Wire‑free installation requires Wi‑Fi coverage across the entire lawn so the mower can receive correction data from Husqvarna Cloud. Check coverage with your smartphone; common fixes are moving the router, adding a Wi‑Fi extender or using a Mesh system. If Wi‑Fi is not practical you can choose dealer‑installed alternatives such as the Automower® Connect kit (cellular) or the EPOS® RS1 reference station.
What area and cutting modes does the mower support?
Systematic mowing gives an area capacity of up to 3,300 m². If you prefer an irregular, carpet‑like finish the irregular mode supports up to 2,200 m². You can also create a secondary area for gardens split into two unconnected lawns — the mower will mow a selected time in each area but must be moved between them manually.
How does it cope with slopes, passages and tall grass?
The Automower® 320 NERA handles slopes up to 50% inside the installation (25% at boundaries). It has automatic passage handling to navigate narrow routes and spiral cutting to even out higher grass. Safety features include lift and tilt sensors, alarm and PIN code, and GeoFence notifications when the mower is moved outside the defined area (when within Wi‑Fi range).
